THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE!/THE DARKNESS

NKJ Genesis 1:16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.

God has made night and day, light and dark. What does God say about the dark?

There is physical darkness

NKJ Genesis 1:2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

NKJ Genesis 1:18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

NKJ Job 3:6 As for that night, may darkness seize it; May it not rejoice among the days of the year, May it not come into the number of the months.

NKJ Job 38:19 " Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place,

NKJ Psalm 104:20 You make darkness, and it is night, In which all the beasts of the forest creep about.

NKJ Amos 4:13 For behold, He who forms mountains, And creates the wind, Who declares to man what his thought is, And makes the morning darkness, Who treads the high places of the earth -- The LORD God of hosts is His name.

There is spiritual darkness

NKJ Micah 3:6 "Therefore you shall have night without vision, And you shall have darkness without divination; The sun shall go down on the prophets, And the day shall be dark for them.

NKJ Matthew 6:23 "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

NKJ John 1:5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

NKJ John 3:19 "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

NKJ Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

NKJ 1 Thessalonians 5:4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

The wicked walk in darkness

NKJ Deuteronomy 28:29 "And you shall grope at noonday, as a blind man gropes in darkness; you shall not prosper in your ways; you shall be only oppressed and plundered continually, and no one shall save you.

NKJ Psalm 35:6 Let their way be dark and slippery, And let the angel of the LORD pursue them.

NKJ Psalm 82:5 They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable.

NKJ Proverbs 4:19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble.

NKJ Isaiah 59:9 Therefore justice is far from us, Nor does righteousness overtake us; We look for light, but there is darkness! For brightness, but we walk in blackness!

NKJ Jeremiah 23:12 "Therefore their way shall be to them Like slippery ways; In the darkness they shall be driven on And fall in them; For I will bring disaster on them, The year of their punishment," says the LORD.

NKJ Matthew 15:14 "Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch."

NKJ 1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.


Stop walking in darkness and come to God's marvelous light and be saved.

NKJ Ephesians 5:14 Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light."


PRAYER

FATHER GOD, I PRAY THAT YOUR HOLY SPIRIT WILL OPEN THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF THOSE AROUND US WHO WAK IN DARKNESS THAT THEY MAY SEE THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL AND BE SAVED.
